چکیده
Abstract Multi-orbital physics in quasi-two-dimensional electron gases (q2DEGs) triggers intriguing phenomena not observed bulk materials, such as unconventional superconductivity and magnetism. Here, we investigate the mechanism of orbital selective switching spin-polarization oxide q2DEG formed at (001) interface between LaAlO 3 , EuTiO SrTiO band insulators. By using density functional theory calculations, transport, magnetic x-ray spectroscopy measurements, find that filling titanium-bands with 3d xz /3d yz character layer induces an antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic exchange interaction Eu-4f 7 moments. The results explain observation carrier density-dependent correlations anomalous Hall effect this q2DEG, demonstrate how combined theoretical experimental approaches can lead a deeper understanding emerging electronic phases serve guide for materials design advanced applications.

Spin-polarized two-dimensional electron gas at oxide interfaces.
The possibility of formation of a fully spin-polarized 2D electron gas at the SrMnO_3/(LaMnO_3)_1/SrMnO_3 heterostructure is predicted from density-functional calculations. The La(d) electrons become confined in the direction normal to the interface in the electrostatic potential well of the positively charged layer of La atoms, acting as electron donors. These electrons mediate a ferromagnetic...
متن کاملCalculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method
In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...
